Pure Chaos

I have a little equation...

1- 3 year old
+

1- 9 month old
+

1 puggle
+

1 yorkiepoo
Pure Chaos!

I know... Derek and I are lunatics!

A few days ago, Reagan finally figured out how to get out of the fence in the back yard. Derek was in class and so my only option was to just let him inside! Yikes! He was really hyper at first. When Derek got home he gave Reagan a bath and cleaned him up a bit. We are working on a new fence in the backyard so we just decided to let Reagan stay in and see how it goes.

The next morning I woke up with both dogs in the bed and Anna-Kate! Thomas joined pretty soon after. It was an absolutely crazy day since the dogs aren't totally housebroken and since Reagan is so stinking hyper!

Maddie is my little shadow. Everywhere I go, she follows. Usually she's so close to my feet that I can't see her when Thomas is in my arms. (Which is most of the time!) When I sit, Maddie either crawls in my lap or lays as close to me as she can.

Reagan is obsessed with Maddie and tried relentlessly the first day to get her to play with him! So... everywhere Maddie went, so did Reagan. I have my own little entourage!

By the end of the first day both of the dogs had gotten really used to each other. Maddie perked up and started playing and Reagan wore himself out. Derek and I have gotten a good routine with them so the house breaking is going much better too!

I never thought I would say this but I am actually enjoying having Reagan inside! He's such a mess. Anan-Kate and Thomas really like the dogs too!

I'm still anxious to get the fence up so when both dogs are getting a little mischievous or when I need to clean, they can go out for a bit!

Quick Trip to Saint Louis

So last Tuesday I got a text message from Derek when he was in class. It said,

"I just won two tickets to next Tuesday's Cardinals Game!!"

Apparently Derek answered a trivia question on Twitter and he won the tickets!

Crazy.

He really does have all the luck.

Even crazier is that we decided to go!

Thomas and Anna-Kate both had a check up scheduled for the morning so we just left after that. Thomas slept most of the way and Anna-Kate slept about half of the trip. They were both really good on the drive!

When we got into town we had a little time to kill before we met up with two of Derek's cousins so I snapped a few pictures of Thomas and Anna-Kate.

I can not tell you how much I LOVE Thomas' face in this one!

By a few I meant a lot of pictures... :)

We met up at a place called Pi Pizzeria. It was such a good, deep-dish pizza!  Derek hadn't seen his family there in years, so it was a lot of fun visiting with them! We are going to have to see them every time we go now!

After dinner, we went to the game. We were amazed by the awesome seats we got! Derek kept waiting on a home run to come our way while I secretly hoped it wouldn't! ha! Seriously a flying ball with two children by me... no thank you! :)  As cool as it would have been... they stayed away.

The game was SO hot! Poor Anna-Kate was a sweaty mess! Even Thomas was hot!

The Cardinals had a good lead by the end of the 7th inning and the kids were getting really tired, so Derek and I decided to walk the park a bit and head on out. Anna-Kate and Thomas were sound asleep before we even got out of the parking garage, and the game ended shortly after that.

We headed back to Searcy after the game! The first bit of the drive went pretty fast but about 2:00, Derek and I started getting tired. Thankfully we made it home about 3:30!

Derek and I are absolutely crazy for doing a turn-around trip but he only had one day he could take off and he loves the Cardinals, so we knew we had to take advantage of the tickets! We were really glad we went!

More Birthday Celebrations

Monday was Anna-Kate's actual birthday, so I had planned on making the day super special for her.

The plan was pancakes for breakfast, eating at a place of choice for lunch, dinner of her choice and lots of love and kisses!!

Anna-Kate and I got up and got dressed. I let her pick out whatever she wanted. She chose this birthday dress my great aunt got Anna-Kate last year "so she could twirl." It was really cute!

Then she wanted to play with her new stamps and beads Derek's parent's got her while I made her pancakes.

I started on the pancakes and then Anna-Kate got a couple of birthday calls. While I was on the phone, I accidentally let Reagan out without his leash!

Once we got Reagan back inside, a package came for Anna-Kate from my grandparents.

It was the cutest little sleeping bag! Anna-Kate LOVED it!

Before I could finish  the pancakes, Thomas woke up. I fed him and then occupied him with some cheerios so I could finally get Anna-Kate some breakfast! It was just such a crazy morning!!

I thought Anna-Kate would love the idea of pink pancakes. She always chooses things that are pink. I guess I didn't think about it maybe freaking her out! ha! So she really only ate a bite or two out of each pancake and then was over them!

After breakfast we played some and I got Thomas ready for the day. Pretty soon it was time to pick up Derek's sister and Aunt so we could all go eat.

Anna-Kate loves the little hibachi grill that's here in town, so that was where she wanted to go for lunch. Derek's parents couldn't make it but Anna-Kate was still really excited to see Kristen. She, of course, had a blast!

Kristen wasn't so sure about things and Thomas was really sleepy so he didn't seem to enjoy it until the rice was done, then he ate and ate!

Notice all the rice in his chair!

Anna-Kate loves the whole idea of watching your food get made in front of you and eating "yotz and yotz" of rice!

After lunch, I went to drop Kristen and Derek's aunt off but decided to chat for a while. We ended up staying until 3 and Kristen came back to the house with us.

I laid Anna-Kate and Thomas down for their naps and let Kristen stay up and watch a movie.

After Anna-Kate's nap the girls played really well until Derek got home.

Anna-Kate wanted hot dogs, macaroni and cheese and broccoli for dinner! We ate that and then she was just going crazy to open her gifts.

She was mad because I kept re-taking her picture!

She had the sweetest smile when she was opening her gifts! She kept saying "Thank you Mommy. Thank you for my gifts!"

Trying on her new outfit!

Thomas was all about her new cash register!

She and Kristen played until around 8.

I think Anna-Kate had a good day!

Happy Birthday Baby Girl! (Party Post)

Anna-Kate is THREE!!!

Yes- 3!!!!!

She is a preschooler!

I know- I can't believe it either!

My sister made her this adorable tutu! I didn't get a lot of pictures of her in it so I plan on getting more later this week.

Thanks Sara- You're the best!!

Derek and I decided to have her party on Saturday. Anna-Kate has become really girly so I did a tea party theme!

Anna-Kate asked for Kristen and her friends Ben and Savanna to come over.

I found tea cups for each child and then the girls each had a party hat. I made everyone a cookie with their initial on it too! Their party favor was the tea cup, a hat and a box of cookies!

Savanna is almost exactly a year younger than Anna-Kate. We love Savanna! She's precious.

I was SO excited when I found this 'Happy Birthday' tea cup!!

Ben is a couple of months younger than Anna-Kate! They are so cute together! Poor Ben at such a girly party! He was a good sport though!

A friend of Derek's parents made this adorable tea pot cake! I was so excited!

It was probably my favorite cake I've had for Anna-Kate!

Anna-Kate had so much fun at the party! I'll let the pictures do the talking!

I worked SO hard on my cookies! Even though I messed up the icing, I thought they were still pretty cute!

This is probably my favorite picture! Savanna wanted to love on him so bad!

Derek was not happy about this... ;)

Savanna's going to be a big sister in September! Her mother, Amber, is the cutest pregnant mommy!

Poor Anna-Kate was already worn out!

Anna-Kate had lots of helpers opening her gifts!

After everyone left we put on her favorite movie, Enchanted and cleaned up. When I came back into the room this is how I found her! Poor thing!

Today is Anna-Kate's actual birthday so Derek and I decided we would save our gifts for after dinner, so she could still have a special day today! I can't wait to share about the rest of her birthday in my next post!
