New Homeowners!

We now have been homeowners for 3 days! We are so anxious to get the house ready for us to move in! Our goal is to be moved in by the end of October. Yesterday we purchased paint for Anna-Kate's bedroom and our bedroom. I am just so excited to see how they turn out! We are almost done priming Anna-Kate's room, here's a little preview of what that looks like:

The darker spot in the middle of the wall is the actual wall color (I got a little anxious to see what it was going to look like on the wall) It's going to be hot pink! :) We are also going to have to paint the base molding and ceiling... that will be a cream color. It's going to be alot of work... but it's so worth it! I love being able to paint and work on something for Anna-Kate. I wish I had a picture of it, but today she and Kristen got to "help paint!" Derek gave them both an empty tray and one got a roller and the other got a paint brush... they were so cute putting their "paint" on the wall! Both the girls love to scream at the top of their lungs in the house because of the echo! It's so funny! I think Anna-Kate is going to love the new house and her new, very pink room!

Today Derek and his brother did alot of work outside too! They cleaned up all of the flower beds, mowed the yard and even started pressure washing the sidewalk and driveway! Here are a few more little sneaks at some of the things we're doing... I don't want to show everything until it's all done!

Here are my keys in the door!

We cleaned up the floors! The floor in Anna-Kate's room is beautiful!New outside lights!

We cannot wait to get more work done on the house! Look for updates!

On another note... how could I make a post without including some of my favorite recent pictures of Anna-Kate??!!

Changes

Well alot of changes have been taking place in the Glover household! The biggest change is one that Derek has already mentioned- we bought a house!! We are not positive when we will close, but it looks like it is going to be sometime early next week! We both are so excited and nervous at the same time! The house couldn't suit us any better! I will try to put some pictures of the house as we make changes on it and get settled in!

Another big change lately has been Anna-Kate! She is walking and talking so much! We have been loving this phase she's going through! It is so wonderful to get the chance to see your child grow and experience the world around them. Anna-Kate's favorite words are: Dada, Nah (No), Dhyea (yeah), Dhthere (there) and Mama... although most of her words have the dh sound! :) She has also been using sign language to communicate with us! It's adorable! But one of my favorite things she is saying now is when you ask her what sound does the dog make and she says, "ah ah ah!" Anna-Kate has been saying dog for a long time, she even replaced dog with dixie for a little bit, but one day she just crawled over to Derek, pointed at a picture of a dog and went "ah ah ah!" Of course, cats are dogs too, and she follows our cat in Lepanto around saying dog- ah ah. Anna-Kate has really started walking in the last two weeks or so! I really noticed it this week when Derek and I took Anna-Kate to see his brother play football! Anna-Kate and Kristen both wanted to stand in the front of the bleachers and watch the cheerleaders!! They loved them! We really had to keep an eye on them because they wanted to walk all over the place and cheer with the cheerleaders! Now whenever you say "Go Wildcats!!" Anna-Kate will throw her arms straight up in the air! She's facinated by them and loves to clap along with the girls! Here are some pictures and a video or two of the girls at the game:

And here are the videos!

All in all things have been good here! We are trying to adjust to a new fall schedule with classes and all. It's always a little bit of a struggle but we are managing well! Derek and I know that this is going to be a great semester! We are looking forward to seeing more and more of Anna-Kate's personality and growing together as a family!
